CH-Bioforce’s Christmas donation for Baltic Sea and its heritage
Our Christmas donation this year goes to the John Nurminen Foundation to support their work to save the Baltic Sea and its heritage.
The John Nurminen Foundation is a record-breaking rescuer of the Baltic Sea. The aim of the foundation is to save the Baltic Sea for future generations.
Eutrophication is the biggest threats to the Baltic Sea, but oil and chemical transportation, loss of biodiversity, and climate change also threaten our beloved sea. At the same time, there is a threat that the valuable cultural heritage of the Baltic Sea will be lost.
The John Nurminen Foundation does concrete work to save the Baltic Sea by reducing the load on the sea and environmental risks. The Foundation also focus on increasing the awareness of the Baltic Sea by telling the story of the sea and its history so that people learn and understand why the Sea must be protected. In addition, the Foundation encourages people to make an impact by voting, contacting the representatives of the parliament and local decision-makers. Everyone can influence the well-being of the Baltic Sea!
Our company shares the foundation’s values. Our annual donation is our way of bearing our part of the shared responsibility in protecting the delicate nature of the Baltic Sea.

CH-Bioforce Oy is a Finnish start-up founded in 2016. The company’s innovative BIOFORSENSE® biomass fractionation technology dates back to 2011, when inventors Lari Vähäsalo, Nicholas Lax and Sebastian von Schoultz made their first findings. Today, the company forms part of the Chemec group, which operates in the chemical industry. CH-Bioforce currently employs ten members of staff. Our R&D and pilot plant is located in Raisio, Finland.
