CH-Bioforce’s annual donation for climate and nature

Our donation this year goes to the John Nurminen Foundation.

With our annual Christmas donation, we support the John Nurminen Foundation’s Clean Baltic Sea projects and the protection of the Baltic Sea heritage.

The John Nurminen Foundation is a record-breaking rescuer of the Baltic Sea. The aim of the foundation is to save the Baltic Sea for future generations.

Eutrophication is one of the biggest threats to the Baltic Sea. Its most prominent signs are cyanobacterial blooms, water turbidity, coastal liming, and bottom anoxia. At the same time, there is a threat that the valuable cultural heritage of the Baltic Sea will be lost.

As the foundation sees it, a clean sea enables the local culture connected to the sea to flourish. A strong natural connection to the sea results in an increasing will to protect its biodiverse ecology.

The John Nurminen Foundation tackles these problems with its Clean Baltic Sea projects. Projects will focus on concrete actions to address the root causes of eutrophication and reduce phosphorus loads. The Foundation’s cultural activities, which focus on maritime history, have centered on the history of shipping, expeditions, and cartography.

Our company shares the foundation’s values. Our annual donation is our way of bearing our part of the shared responsibility in protecting the delicate nature of the Baltic Sea.
